Video Update

Here are some videos of Joshua from the past few weeks...

The second one is from yesterday, so Joshua is wearing his Huskies outfit. As you can see he was very happy that the Huskies won the Pac-10 title!

I think Kaylie was just an easy baby, so I don't have any magical advice other than sticking to a stuctured schedule. Eric&Lisa: Eric and I were married March 18, 2006 in the Seattle Temple. We have two beautiful boys, Joshua and Matthew, and are living in Issaquah, Washington. Eric works for T-Mobile as an internal auditor and I am an RN working very part-time as a NICU Nurse.

3 Years Old

Joshua weighs 33.4 pounds and is 38 inches tall (75th%). He loves music, cars, playing baseball and running! He has a great sense of humor and loves to be silly. He loves being a big brother and wants to help with Everything! He is a picky eater, but he loves chicken nuggets and chocolate milk.

4 Months Old

Matthew weighs 14 lbs 13 oz (50%) and is 26 3/4 " tall (95%). He is still dealing with reflux and is pretty uncomfortable with his feedings. He eats 4 oz every 3 hours and has one 4-5 hr stretch of sleep at night. He has discovered his fingers and loves to grab them and suck on them. Matthew has started cooing and even giggles sometimes! He loves to watch everything that Joshua does and always smiles for Daddy.

2 months old

At 2 months old Matthew weighs 11 lbs 4.5 oz (50%) and is 22 3/4 in long (50-75%). He doesn't nurse much since he has a bad case of reflux that's still in the problem solving stage. He eats a bottle of 4 ounces of milk every 2.5-3 hours and is awake much of the night. He's recovered well from his hernia repair, he is good at lifting his head and loves his binky!

Matthew -1 month old

Matthew weighs 8 lbs 11 oz and is 21 inches long! (25th % but when you adjust his age for his actual gestation its 75%) . Matthew sleeps great during the day and is uncomfortable all night long! We're still trying to solve some problems: Reflux, possible cow-protein sensitivity and a hernia :(. Josh loves being a big brother...Matthew gets LOTS of kisses!

2 Years old

Weight: 28.6 lbs (50%), Height: 34.5 inches (50-75th%). Joshua is learning so fast it's hard to keep up these days! He can count to 10, he's learning the ABC's, and he has started putting words together 2 at a time! He loves music and will dance to anything. He just learned how to do somersaults and loves buses, cars and Mickey Mouse. He is a very picky eater but (big surprise) loves chocolate and french fries :)

18 months old

Weight: 27 lbs 10 oz, (75th%) Height: 33 3/4" (90th%). Joshua loves to spin around in circles and make himself dizzy. He also loves being read to, cars, and dancing to any kind of music. Words he can say: Yes, No (Mo), Mama, Dad, Car, Ball, Baby, Josh, Cup, Amen (Men) and Boy, and several animal sounds. He is a happy boy and it's been a lot of fun to watch him become a toddler!

15 months old

Joshua weighs 26 pounds, 7 ounces (50-75%) and is 32 1/4 inches tall (75-90%)! He loves to be around lots of people - especially kids, and he runs all day long. He can say "mama, dada" and sometimes "duck". He loves peek-a-boo, being read to, anything that looks remotely dangerous, and has learned to growl!

1 Year Old!

Joshua weighs 23 pounds 3 ounces (50-75th percentile) and is 31 inches tall (90th percentile!) He has 6 teeth with 2 still on their way. He says "mama" when he's crying and babbles dadada a lot. He loves peek-a-boo games and any toy with wheels he can spin with his fingers. He has started trying to pull himself up onto things and tries to stand alone and he loves animal crackers.

11 months Old

Weight: 22 pounds! Teeth: 4 going on 6. Joshua is cruising! He loves the cable box and the book case and anything with knobs he can pull, buttons he can push, or sharp corners he can hit his head on! He is very vocal and "talks" all the time, no real words yet! In the last month he has learned to drink from a sippy cup, crawl, pull himself up to standing, and even walk along furniture. His favorite thing to do is kneel beside his toy box and play with his toys. He loves feet, animal crackers and the song "She'll be comin' Round the Mountain".

10 Months Old

Weight: 21 pounds! Joshua is scooting and pivoting all over the place and keeping us busy! His favorite foods are the Gerber Graduate Puffs and Apples. New sounds are "Geh" and blowing air through his lips like a horse.... He loves to look at the pictures in books and he has 3 teeth (going on 4).

9 Months Old

Joshua now weighs 20 pounds 9 ounces - 50th %!! He is 29" tall which is the 75th percentile! Hopefully his weight gain will slow down soon or else I won't be able to lift him anymore! He loves all singing and music, and his favorite food is sweet potatoes. He's very ticklish and his favorite toy is his exer-saucer! He is better at sitting up but is still has a ways to go before crawling. His 2 top front teeth are also on their way in.

8 months old

Weight: 19 pounds 2 ounces. Joshua is a lot of fun these days. He loves to blow raspberries all the time and his favorite food is Peas (believe it or not). He has his 2 bottom front teeth and tries to eat everything from my cell phone to...well actually just everything! He is getting better and sitting up and is very good at reaching and grabbing things. Joshua isn't even close to crawling but has learned his own form of transportation which involves laying on his back, grabbing his legs and rolling around. He has a great sense of humor and we live for that smile!

7 Months Old

Joshua weighs 17 pounds 1 ounce which puts him in the 25th percentile for his age. He tries (unsuccessfully) to sit up all the time and he just got his first tooth! His favorite toy is a v-tech steering wheel that makes car noises, and he loves to eat squash mmmm! and baby oatmeal.

6 Months Old

Joshua is 16 pounds 2 ounces, which puts him in the 25-50th percentile on the growth chart! He can roll over on his tummy and he is learning to grab things with his hands. He loves "The Star Spangled Banner" and splashing in the bathtub. His record for sleep time is 9 1/2 hours!

5 Months Old

Joshua weighs 14 pounds 1 ounce. He is ALWAYS hungry! He eats 5-7 ounces every 2-3 hours! He is so close to rolling over and loves to stand up with mommy and daddy's help! He is sleeping 5-6 hours at night and loves to suck on his hands so much that he even gave himself a hand-hickey!

4 Months Old

Joshua weighs 12 pounds 1 ounce and is 23 1/2 inches long! He has started smiling and laughing and has discovered that he has fingers! He spends hours every day playing with his hands. His favorite toy is the mobile above his crib, which is indefinitely entertaining to him! He is eating 4-5 ounces of milk with each feeding and sleeps about 5 hours each night.

3 Months Old

Joshua weighs 9 pounds 8 ounces and is 21 inches tall! He is learning that nighttime is sleep time. He usually has one 4 hour stretch at night and the rest of the time he eats every 3 hours, 4-5 ounces of milk. He loves to lift his head up and look around, and his favorite thing to do is stare at the bright lights in the kitchen!

2 Months Old

Joshua had been home for about 2 weeks and weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces! He finally out-grew his first preemie outfit! He was awake every 2-3 hours to eat 3 ounces of milk, and was very uncomfortable from reflux, hernias and more. His favorite time to be awake was 3 am, and tummy time was more like the perfect position for napping rather than head control practice!

One Month Old

At one month Joshua was 5 pounds 8 ounces and breathing great on his own but needed a little extra oxygen to get through a feeding. He nursed about two times a day and was fed the rest of his meals through an NG (nasogastric) tube. It took so much out of him to eat that the rest of the day he would sleep. His favorite thing is cuddling with mommy and daddy!

One week old

At one week Joshua came off the CPAP and was on a little bit of oxygen to help him breathe. He was back up to his birth weight of 3 pounds 12 ounces.
